Do you think Taylor and Lou Ann will get along now that they are living
together? How might each influence the other and what might each of
them learn about themselves now that they are living together?
I think that Taylor and Lou Ann will get along as they are living together. Taylor would be able to influence Lou Ann on having more confidence in herself and becoming a much more independent person. Since Lou Ann and Taylor are two different people, I'm guessing they will each feed off of each other as they are living together. The term "opposites attract" applies to them. What one doesn't have, the other does. Despite how different they are, they are also the same in so many ways. They both show a caring, and nurturing personality towards their children, which will pay off in the long run to build certain senses of trust and dependency on each other. Since they both live such different lives, but come from the same area, I feel like they would cooperate with each other since they both have a sense of what "home" feels like. I feel as if they wouldn't bicker with each other as much. Since Taylor seems to be more hardworking and determined, I'm pretty sure she would push Lou Ann to be the same exact person. They both are also very intelligent, which shows how wise both of them will become, due to the fact that they were both raised differently and around different vibes. I think that Taylor and Lou Ann will become the "power-mom" "best-friends" type of people. They would each balance each other out. Lou Ann would teach Taylor a lesson or two about falling in love, and how much she mentally had to go through with her family and Angel, while Taylor teaches Lou Ann to live a little. For example, toward the end of chapter 5, I’m pretty sure Taylor lifted up Lou Ann’s confidence when she said “I got nothing on you.” From the minute that Taylor stepped foot on the property, they already began a strong bond that will eventually become something greater. They both already hook well together. They would both build a “nothing can stop us” attitude. A team of two is definitely better than one. Not only does it benefit Taylor and Lou Ann, but Turtle and Dwayne as well. The environment would be a positive one, definitely.
I like how you state that Lou Anna and Taylor will influence each other in their own ways. I do agree that they will "feed off of each other as they are living together."
I enjoy how thought out this is. And you also don't just talk about how Taylor will affect Lou Ann. You talk about both. You also talk about how "opposites attract", which I think is a really good way to look at their new relationship.
I think that Taylor and Lou Ann will get along now that they're living together. SInce they are two completely different people, it won't be perfect. But I think they'll learn to make it work. They are in similar situations though so I believe that it will help them connect and allow them to open up to each other a little more. I think that they will be able to balance each other. Taylor might help Lou Ann in being more confident and standing up for herself. She'll show her how important it is to be more independent. I also think it will help Taylor realize that it's okay to depend on someone sometimes. She'll learn to open up more and not hold all of her feelings in. I think they will feed off of each other and become almost like a "team". They'll become great friends and will always share their opinions, thoughts, and feelings with each other. I think this will be a great experience for both of them and it'll help them a lot in the long run.
I really like how you detailed everything so well. I like your ideas on what could happen. I totally agree with how you said that they will balance each other out. Great job!
i like this comment since it really goes into detail and explains multiple different out comes in the story. She also talks about how the girls could end up working as a team and going with each others strengths.
I believe that Taylor and Lou Ann will get along because their personalities are so contradicting. I feel that Taylor will influence and be motherly to Lou Ann because Taylor is so independent and outgoing, while Lou Ann is very subservient and docile. Their personalities are nearly polar opposites, which should balance them out and keep them both happy. I feel like Taylor could really inspire Lou Ann and trigger some desire in her to be more independent and self-determined. Taylor could really use her talents to her advantage, with her being so self-determined and individualistic, by pushing Lou Ann far from her comfort zone, but not so far as to push her over the edge. They will both learn how exceptional and wonderful they can be if they use their talents to their advantage and show how well they can use them. For example, at the end of chapter 5, Taylor says, "Quit making everybody out to be better than you are." This proves true that Lou Ann has barely any confidence in herself, and that obviously needs to change since she is so cowardly, timid, and dependent on others--everyone else but herself.
yes they will both be able to help each other. Taylor will be able to help her become more self reliant. AS lou ann still searches for characteristics to help herself. But together i can see them get along like you said
Yes, I do think that Taylor and Lou Ann will get along now that they are living together. I think that both of them will influence each other in very beneficial ways. They really will learn a lot from one another and in the process, learn a lot about themselves. I think that Taylor will help Lou Ann to be more confident in herself and in her choices, as well as become a person who doesn't worry as much, and takes more risks. Taylor will show Lou Ann that she is not the person that people made her out to be all her life, but that she is so much more than that. I think that Lou Ann will help Taylor to realize that her and Turtle really do belong together. I also think that Lou Ann will help Taylor to find a permanent name for Turtle that is just perfect, whether it stay the same, or change. I think that Lou Ann has waited all her life to meet someone like Taylor, but she just didn't know it. They are both so different and so I think that they will definitely use this to their advantage. Where Lou Ann could quite possibly teach Taylor about love and faith, Taylor could teach Lou Ann about independence and defying the rules and restrictions that society has put on women. I really feel that the two of them living together will be such a positive thing for not only them, but also for their kids. Their kids will grow up in a home that fosters confidence and independence as well as love and compassion. The kids will have the best of both Taylor and Lou Ann's personalities in this way, so I'm excited to see how everything plays out.
I really like how you said that they will influence each other in very beneficial ways because that really says how you feel about them and the chapter. I also like how you said you were excited to see how everything plays out.
Now that Taylor and Lou Ann are now living together, I do believe that they will get along with each other. Maybe at some points they would not be successful but they will find a way to try to make it happen. I think that they both will learn from each other and themselves because their stories/personalities are very similiar. They both have different lives, so it can work out by trying to help each other out throughout the time that they live together. Taylor will influence Lou Ann because she is not as independent as Lou Ann. It will be an advantage for Taylor and Lou Ann different ways to be more successful in their lives. As for their kids Turtle and Dwayne, I feel like they both can change the next generation. They will grow up to be Independent and being different from their parents. It will be a great tremendous experience for both of them.
Now that Lou Ann and Taylor are living together, they can either get along and or work with each other. Based on their opposite personalities, i think they will get along very well (opposite attracts). Having their differences might influence one another in a positive way. For example, Taylor being the more confident and independent girl might rub off of Lou Ann and teach her a few things as also Lou Ann teaching Taylor. Although Taylor is that independent girl, overtime i think she may realize that having a friend is all she needs. At this point in the story as they both struggle to succeed, i think they just need the company of one who understands where they are coming from. Despite their differences, their background and similarities might bring them together to a friendship that will last a lifetime. Sometimes having a friend there for you to give you advice is the only thing you need to keep moving forward. Not only will they learn more about each other, but also learn about themselves and find values/traits they never knew they had. They may have their arguments and disagreements, but i think that may just make, not only their friendship stronger, but also them individually.
I agree with your comment and I have a similar response. I think that they will have a good friendship despite their different personalities and will benefit from each other.
At the end of the chapter, Lou Ann begins to speak of Taylor as someone she wants to be and speaks of how she will never be like Taylor because she thinks less of herself. She thinks that nobody would want to move in with her and her baby because she believes nobody would like how the family inside the house is dysfunctional. But shortly after she states that Taylor is better than her, Taylor tells her to stop and Taylor states who she thinks she is in a silly manner. Taylor describes herself as a "plain hillbilly form East Jesus Nowhere with this adopted child that everybody keeps on telling me is dumb as a box of rocks" to make Lou Ann feel better, which cheered Lou Ann up a little. I think that Taylor will be a great support system for Lou Ann, and it is possible that Lou Ann might provide some support for Taylor as the story progresses.
I feel that, based off of the events of their encounter in this chapter, that they will easily get along with one another and geniunely try to help and support each other. Taylor will probably influence Lou Ann by inspiring her to take her life into her own hands; and it already seems that their personalities mingle and compliment each other well. They understand each other's situations and can relate to one another through their experiences leading up to this point in their lives. The bond that they've started to form helps represent the topic of family and also how women don't always have to listen to their husbands but can also be independent as well. Taylor will most likely help bring out more independence and courage in Lou Ann, while Lou Ann will help give Taylor a more sedentary living style that will help to stabilize her life. This also relates to the chapter's title: "Harmonious Space," how the balance of the two women creates a more benificial and harmonious lifestyle for them and the children as well.
Before reading this chapter, I thought there would be no way that Taylor and Lou Ann would get along when they met. I thought Lou Ann would have been intimidated by taylor because she was just so independent. I also though that Taylor would get annoyed with Lou Ann because she was just so acquiescent. I as for sure they would clash. Now having read this, it turns out that they are practically the same person. In the middle of the chapter when they first meet, they are shown chatting in the kitchen drinking soda, chatting like they've know each other for a while. Lou Ann shows no insecurity. Also, at the end of the chapter, Taylor says to Lou Ann, "It's been so long... You talk just like me." I feel as thought they are both just relieved to have another women for support. It seems more likely that two women would connect better than a man and a woman. This is why I think Taylor and Lou Ann will get along very well.
I like and agree pretty much everything in this response. i thought the exact same thing like how you said "I thought there would be no way that Taylor and Lou Ann would get along when they met. I thought Lou Ann would have been intimidated by taylor because she was just so independent." this is a good response and i completely agree with it
I think that yes it is going to be weird because they are so different. But in the end it will turn out good. They can both learn from each other. Perhaps Lou Ann can finally get some confidence and become a little more courageous and take charge in her life, and not be held down by anyone. My prediction is that the both of them will battle through life together as best friends, and that Turtle will finally have a friend, Dwane Ray. I believe that only good can come from this situation.
Now that they are living together, i feel like Lou Ann and Taylor will get along. I feel this way because the way they connected as soon as they met was just a very strong connection. They laughed together and shared so many personal stories about each other while only knowing each other as the person looking for a roommate and the person looking for a place to stay. They are both in similar positions too because they didn't ask for a child, although they both ended up with one. They way the got their child is different, but they are still in the same position as a parent. They are new to parenting, so they will be able to help each other along the way deciding whether they are doing the right things to their children or doing the wrong things. As the story progresses, i feel they will become a strong duo learning from each other along the way. One being that Lou Ann will learn how to become a more independent woman from Taylor. The fact that they are both females also triggers an instant bond, because females at the time aren't given as many rights as men do.
I found this actually very interesting, mainly because a lot (not all, just a bunch) of these posts (Including my own) basically state that Taylor and Lou Ann will be just fine and they will help improve each other. You actually gave backing to why they were going to be fine.
I think that Taylor and Lou Ann will get along now that they're living together. They immediately clicked when they met and had things in common with each other. Even though they had different personalities, they are in similar situations, so I think that will help strengthen their friendship. I think they will balance each other out because they are somewhat different. Because they will be around each other so much, they will learn to be more like each other and Taylor might help Lou Ann be more independent and confident, while Lou Ann might help Taylor know that it's okay to ask for help sometimes. Overall, I think they will both benefit from living together.
I agree with this post, they clicked super fast and I think the four (Lou Ann, Taylor, Turtle, and Dwayne Ray) of them will all benefit from the new bond.
Honestly I do believe that Taylor and Lou Ann will get along while living together, I mean at first to me it seemed like Taylor was opening up to a total stranger and but then again so was Lou Ann and while they both just clicked perfectly together. I feel like they are going to be like 'co-mothers' like they are definitely going to become a family. Their personalities are so different yet I can kinda picture Lou Ann opening up to being more like Taylor no so much because Taylor is like that but more because of the comfort level she is going to get with Taylor. They really are going to be like best friends, in my opinion, and actually this is much because of their 'similar' life situations. I think that they will really help each other especially in raising these children since both of them are brand new mothers, maybe the first step in this being Lou Ann helping Taylor find a permanent name for Turtle. I also believe that along with Taylor showing Lou Ann how to be more independent, Lou Ann will show Taylor that it's not wrong for her to be dependent of others sometimes. I really think that they will balance each other out.
Taylor and Lou Ann will definitely get along together just fine. And because of each others differences, they will be able to learn from each other's mistakes in the past and maybe in the future. Especially with their very similar life situations, they will get along very well. But I also think that in the end, that they might come across some kind of problem that would separate them. That is my prediction for them.
Now that Lou Ann and Taylor are living together, I think that they will start to getting along because they have so much in common. I think that Taylor will start to influence Lou Ann by making her more independent and strong. Lou Ann might help out Taylor by helping her to become a better mother. I think they will learn more about each other's strengths or weaknesses and they will probably start a family together.
I like this one because you tell us why you think they will get along. We already know that they will get along but you told us why. You also told us how each will influence the other and how it will be good for them.
I think their opposite personalities will easily clash with each other now that Lou Ann and Taylor are living together. At first I thought they wouldn't get along very well, but after reading I could sense a strong bond. With a fight here and there, they will learn new things about each other. They’re going to find common ground and have some of each others nature gives off to the other since they’re both caring and with a child they're not ready for. Lou Ann will talk about Angel and Taylor will talk about her dad, both bonding over negative males in their life. Taylor’s determined and in-your-face personality obviously gets her in a bit of a situation since she was unsure if she could still afford the room at the Hotel Republic, since she lost her job for fighting with the manager. Lou Ann’s pushover personality could come off, teaching Taylor how to just stop being too independent and learn to live in line.
I honestly completely agree with your response. I think it really summarized the main gist of not only this chapter but also your opinion. Just like you I do believe that Lou Ann and Taylor will create a strong bond together, but of course because of their personalities that are so different they will have some conflicts.
They will get along very well probably now that they are living together in one house. They will influence eachother however very much because they both have very different personalities. Taylor will influence Lou Ann to be more confident and independent. Lou Ann can help Taylor become a better mother which will allow Taylor to give more attention to Turtle. I think that they will stay together for a very long time and get together well with minimal fights and arguments.
I like your response because it states how Lou ann could help Taylor give more attention to Turtle; which is a way that I didn't see it. I agree with you that they will stay together for a long time, since they bond so well with each other, even if they're different !
i agree with you that their personalities are very different and i like the fact you added that they were going to however compliment each other instead of causing problems because they both have good qualities in different areas and they can help each other out.
I believe Taylor and Lou Ann will get along now that they are living together. Before I read the Chapter 5 I was guessing they would meet each other and live together. They are so different because of their personalities. Taylor is hopeful and positive. She always thinks something for a good though she got fired. Lou Ann is worried so many things. They living together are good but I think they will have some conflict because their thoughts are different. They can influence each other. Taylor can learn to think more than before, don’t be impulse so much. Lou Ann can learn to face the life positive. They would help each other in their daily life and take care of the children.
I believe that both Lou Ann and Taylor will become true friends and that they will begin to form a family together. Lou Ann is much more dependent on a man and feels like she needs someone there for her. Taylor however is very independent and i think her traits will positively influence Lou ann making her more independent. I also feel that they will create a strong bond because at the end of the chapter they realize that they are very similar to each other, so they will most likely get along.
I like your reply because it is what i think will happen. Taylor is going to be very influential on Lou Ann, and some of her positive traits will rub off on to Lou Ann. I also think they will get along well because they are so alike.
I think that the two will quickly bond and become a family with there two kids. They will learn to play off of each other's strong suits, and teach each other in the long run. Lou Ann will depend on Taylor and taylor will teach her how to be independent over time. I belive that taylor will be doing most of the teaching as Lou Ann leans on her support team. Over time lou ann and taylor will balance each other out, and be come a great team. I don't really know what Lou Ann will teach taylor, but she has something.
I think that Taylor and Lou Ann will get along just fine. Lou Ann seemed happy and excited when Taylor came to her home. I also think that Taylor will be happy to have a place to live and it also provides Turtle with a permanent and safe environment for her to grow up in. It will also be good for Taylor to make a friend in this new place where she lives
I think Lou ann and taylor will get along well, but they will begin to notice each other's different lifestyles. Each will find the other's behavior strange in some way, for example asking why they would go out alone for a certain task or be afraid to. I think that Taylor will teach Lou ann how to be more self dependent and help her grow out of here 'old fashion housewife' lifestyle.

The girls so far seem to be getting along fine they understand each others differences and help to work together with them. Even the two kids seem to be getting along just fine. Mattie is a big support system to both of the girls and their children.
I think that Taylor and Lou Ann will get along just fine. They were laughing and joking within the first ten minutes that they met. Lou Ann didn't even have to think when Taylor asked if she could live with her. I think that Taylor will influence Lou Ann in a good way. I think that she will teach Lou Ann to not be so dependent on men and soon she will start looking for a job just as Taylor is. I think that they will look out for each other and their kids.
I feel like Taylor and Lou Anne will get along. However, i feel like Taylor will tend to get more upset and be more impatient as she is the more responsible, independent one. So far i feel like they are getting along just fine and that Taylor and Lou Anne will teach each other good lessons in different ways. Their kids also seem to be getting along and hopefully they will continue how well they are doing
I feel like Taylor and Ann will get along. But there will be some disagreements with their responsibilities. By the end of the story I know that they will still be friends not matter what happens between them. They treat each other like they are family
I think Taylor and Lou Ann will get along. But they will have some disagreements with the responsibilities they have to handle because Taylor is too independent and Lou Ann is not and is always needing help with things and doesn't know how to do things for herself.
I think that Taylor and Lou Ann will get along as they are living together. Taylor would be able to influence Lou Ann on having more confidence in herself and becoming a much more independent person. Deletethis is a good response and i completely agree with it
I think that yes it is going to be weird because they are so different.
ReplyDeleteNow that they are living together, i feel like Lou Ann and Taylor will get along.
ReplyDeleteI found this actually very interesting, mainly because a lot (not all, just a bunch) of these posts (Including my own) basically state that Taylor and Lou Ann will be just fine and they will help improve each other. You actually gave backing to why they were going to be fine.
DeleteI think that Taylor and Lou Ann will get along now that they're living together.
ReplyDeleteI agree with this post, they clicked super fast and I think the four (Lou Ann, Taylor, Turtle, and Dwayne Ray) of them will all benefit from the new bond.
DeleteHonestly I do believe that Taylor and Lou Ann will get along while living together, I mean at first to me it seemed like Taylor was opening up to a total stranger and but then again so was Lou Ann and while they both just clicked perfectly together.
ReplyDeleteTaylor and Lou Ann will definitely get along together just fine. And because of each others differences, they will be able to learn from each other's mistakes in the past and maybe in the future. Especially with their very similar life situations, they will get along very well. But I also think that in the end, that they might come across some kind of problem that would separate them. That is my prediction for them.
ReplyDeleteNow that Lou Ann and Taylor are living together, I think that they will start to getting along because they have so much in common. I think that Taylor will start to influence Lou Ann by making her more independent and strong. Lou Ann might help out Taylor by helping her to become a better mother. I think they will learn more about each other's strengths or weaknesses and they will probably start a family together.
ReplyDeleteI like this one because you tell us why you think they will get along. We already know that they will get along but you told us why. You also told us how each will influence the other and how it will be good for them.
DeleteI think their opposite personalities will easily clash with each other now that Lou Ann and Taylor are living together.
ReplyDeleteI honestly completely agree with your response. I think it really summarized the main gist of not only this chapter but also your opinion. Just like you I do believe that Lou Ann and Taylor will create a strong bond together, but of course because of their personalities that are so different they will have some conflicts.
DeleteThey will get along very well probably now that they are living together in one house.
ReplyDeleteI like your response because it states how Lou ann could help Taylor give more attention to Turtle; which is a way that I didn't see it. I agree with you that they will stay together for a long time, since they bond so well with each other, even if they're different !
Deletei agree with you that their personalities are very different and i like the fact you added that they were going to however compliment each other instead of causing problems because they both have good qualities in different areas and they can help each other out.
DeleteI believe Taylor and Lou Ann will get along now that they are living together.
ReplyDeleteI believe that both Lou Ann and Taylor will become true friends and that they will begin to form a family together.
ReplyDeleteI like your reply because it is what i think will happen. Taylor is going to be very influential on Lou Ann, and some of her positive traits will rub off on to Lou Ann. I also think they will get along well because they are so alike.
DeleteI think that the two will quickly bond and become a family with there two kids.

DeleteI think that Taylor and Lou Ann will get along just fine. Lou Ann seemed happy and excited when Taylor came to her home. I also think that Taylor will be happy to have a place to live and it also provides Turtle with a permanent and safe environment for her to grow up in. It will also be good for Taylor to make a friend in this new place where she lives
ReplyDeleteI liked this entry because you were straightforward with why they were going to get along just fine.
DeleteI think Lou ann and taylor will get along well, but they will begin to notice each other's different lifestyles. Each will find the other's behavior strange in some way, for example asking why they would go out alone for a certain task or be afraid to. I think that Taylor will teach Lou ann how to be more self dependent and help her grow out of here 'old fashion housewife' lifestyle.

ReplyDeleteThe girls so far seem to be getting along fine they understand each others differences and help to work together with them. Even the two kids seem to be getting along just fine. Mattie is a big support system to both of the girls and their children.
ReplyDeleteI 100% agree with Mattie being a support system and how the kids would get along :).
DeleteI think that Taylor and Lou Ann will get along just fine.
ReplyDeleteI feel like Taylor and Lou Anne will get along.
ReplyDeleteI feel like Taylor and Ann will get along. But there will be some disagreements with their responsibilities. By the end of the story I know that they will still be friends not matter what happens between them. They treat each other like they are family
ReplyDeleteI think Taylor and Lou Ann will get along. But they will have some disagreements with the responsibilities they have to handle because Taylor is too independent and Lou Ann is not and is always needing help with things and doesn't know how to do things for herself.
